Parking lot 20 is currently undergoing construction to build shear walls on levels 1 through 4 of the parking structure.

Campus planner Wendy Bloom said the walls are intended to strengthen the building for “seismic safety” purposes.

The construction is one part of a series of renovations that are not related to the Campus Master Plan that currently has projects across campus.

According to Dan Gill, project manager at the Capital Planning, Design and Construction, 40-50 parking spaces will be temporarily unavailable for parking.

The construction will include the installation of a new elevator and building a wider pedestrian pathway. Construction is estimated to be completed by December.
