Another fire ignites in SF State Humanities Building

UPDATE 10:47 p.m.: Campus police has confirmed that the fire was arson.

UPDATE 7:35 p.m.: The fire alarm was pulled about 20 minutes after the fire was extinguished. Roughly 30 students have evacuated the building.

A fire ignited in the second floor men’s bathroom on the north side of the Humanities Building at approximately 7:15 p.m.

The trash can in the last stall of the men’s bathroom caught on fire, said campus police. The fire alarms have not gone off, and students have not been evacuated.

Campus police are currently at the scene.

“What we are trying to do is find out why the fire alarms didn’t go off,” said Officer Barber.
