Men’s soccer ends season with most wins since 2005

The Gators had the most wins in a season since 2005, where they won 10 games. The Gators started the year having their longest unbeaten streak at six games since 1980, only to hit the road and go on a five game losing streak against top opponents. Although the losing streak tanked the team in the standings, the team played each loss closely and fought until the very end. The team was solid playing in front of their home crowd after only losing one game

The Gators had three players make the CCAA All Conference team. Junior forward Sam Merritt made it for his second straight year as he lead the Gators in points with 14, and accumulated 5 goals and 4 assists, which was tied for 12th overall in the CCAA. Seniors Kevin Johnson and Max Talbert also received All-Conference honors as Johnson scored three goals this season, all of which were game winners tying him for fifth in the CCAA. Talbert was a mainstay on defense, as he helped lead the team to a .89 goal average against opponents as well as seven shutouts.
