The deaths of many young black men have sparked a revolutionary hashtag that has gone viral over popular social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. #BlackLivesMatter has turned into a powerful movement since 2012 with the deaths of Eric Garner, Freddie Gray, and most recently Walter Scott and was created to shed light on the increase in police brutality aimed at the African American community.
