Police shut down multiple downtown San Francisco streets today after someone allegedly threw a stick of dynamite through a restaurant window according to witnesses.
The dynamite left a broken window at Mikaku Restaurant at the 300 block of Grant Avenue.
The commotion occurred around 4 p.m. on Grant Avenue, in between Bush and Sutter. Onlookers said the suspect took off running.
“Some stupid kid tied some dynamite together,” said the hostess at Café de la Presse, a restaurant located across the street. “We felt and heard it and they shut down the street, they even had the bomb sniffing dogs out.”
ABC7 reports that one suspect has been taken into custody.
Bomb sniffing dogs were brought in as a precaution to locate other possible explosives.
No injuries were reported.
