The San Francisco District Attorney charged Mark Landis with a 16th count of invasion of privacy today, after police arrested the former SF State professor for allegedly filming students while they used the restroom in December.
Assistant District Attorney Laura Carwile expanded a protective order to prevent Landis from contacting a 16th victim.
“The victims are scared and don’t want to be contacted by Mr. Landis,” Carwile said in the courtroom.
Landis, who arrived late to the Hall of Justice for the hearing, has since had his passport seized as evidence. Carwile asked that he not request another.
Landis pleaded not guilty to 15 counts of invasion of privacy July 29, after his resignation from the SF State accounting department July 18.
“I don’t really want to talk to you,” said Thanh Ngo, defense attorney for Landis. “Any information I give you doesn’t really help me.”
Landis is expected to appear in court Nov. 5 at 9 a.m.
