University administration issued a warning to students yesterday regarding a sexual battery incident that happened at Cox Stadium Tuesday, in what was the first campus safety alert this semester.
A male victim told police that he was jogging at Cox Stadium around 8:50 p.m. when an unknown male reportedly came up behind him and grabbed his buttocks, according to the University Police Department.
The victim allegedly pushed the subject in response, who pushed him back and caused him to fall to the ground. The victim then got up and ran away from the subject.
The suspect is described as an asian male between 20 and 30 years old, who is approximately 5-feet-10-inches tall with a muscular build, clean-shaven and has hairy eyebrows. He was last seen wearing a grey tank top and black shorts.
“If we get a report and we believe that there is still imminent risk to members of the campus community,” said Loulou Hong, the campus Title IX coordinator. “Then we will issue a timely warning to the campus and provide information that allows students and employees to make informed decisions about how to preserve their safety.”
Police are encouraging anyone with information to contact the department at (415) 338-2222 or the anonymous tip line at (415) 338-3030.
