Elections for Associated Students Inc. have been extended through Monday following a technical glitch that prevented more than a thousand students from logging in to the online voting website.
All San Francisco State University students woke Friday to an email from the SF State Student Center Governing Board informing them that the 19 administrative spots remain open until more students have a chance to cast a ballot.
“There was a University error where 1400 undeclared students were unable to vote with their student ID numbers. The University did fix this on the dime of ASI,” said ASI presidential candidate Ademike Hamilton and current Representative At Large.
According to the ASI bylines and codes, there is no time limit on how long voting polls can be open. Students are able to vote online at http://asi.sfsu.edu or at https://sfsu.votenet.com/sfsu.
“Since we’ve gone online it’s been 24 hours now. We haven’t used the paper ballot in years, it’s been at least five years,” said Program and Services Director Horace Montgomery.
