SF State women’s soccer looks to bounce back from their home opener loss as they host the Holy Names Falcons on Tuesday, Sept. 11.
Defense has been a struggle for both teams as the Holy Names has been outshot 86 to 25 this season, including a 4-0 loss to Western Washington, ranked 11 in the league.
“We need to be more organized when defending set pieces,” said Gators head coach Tracy Hamm.
Seattle Pacific scored four goals against the Gators on Saturday. SF State has surrendered a corner kick goal in their last three games.
Both teams come into the match at 1-2, the Gators hope to get the win on Tuesday before a four-game road trip against conference opponents.
“Going into conference we need a for sure win,” said forward Tami Kwong.
Both SF State soccer teams travel to Sonoma State University on Friday, Sept. 14 and Humboldt State University on Sunday, Sept. 16 to begin conference play.
