Last week the California Collegiate Athletic Association announced that 73 SF State student-athletes earned All-Academic honors for the 2017-18 school year.
The CCAA honored a total of 811 student-athletes across the conference, with SF State ranking fourth amongst the 13 schools. The 811 distinguished student-athletes represent a drop over the previous year of 825 honorees.
The number of SF State honorees has been increasing for two consecutive years. The Gators have seen a jump of 17 honorees compared to the 2015-16 school year and one compared to last year. SF State was one of seven schools in the conference to record an increase of honorees over the previous year.
In order to qualify for CCAA All-Academic honors, student-athletes must be a varsity letter winner in one of 13 CCAA-sponsored sports, as well as achieve a grade-point average of 3.40 in at least 24 semester or 36 quarter units completed at their respective institution.
