The SF State Gators will face the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos in a four-game series at Scolinos Field from Friday, March 15 to Saturday, March 17.
The team hasn’t played since Sunday, March 3 when they swept a four-game series against Cal State Marcos. Since then, their series against UC San Diego was canceled due to rain.
Coach Tony Schifano made sure his team stayed focused between the long gaps in between games
“We had pitchers our pitchers throw to hitters in a live setting,” Coach Schifano said. “It is an older group that are motivated to stay on track and keep their focus.”
Starters for the four games this weekend will be Jeff Piver, Jack Higgins, Riley Clearly and Jordyn Eglite.
The Gators hold an overall record of 9-0-1 and undefeated (7-0) in conference play.
“We need to continue our focus of taking care of the baseball defensively and keep scoring runs,” Schifano said. “No matter how you slice it the key is to throw strikes, take care of the baseball and have quality at-bats to be successful.”
