Welcome back to the Happy Hour!

On today’s episode, hosts Malakai and shaylyn talk about World Mental Health Day and announce the opening of Crane Cove Park in SF’s Dogpatch neighborhood. They speak with Ibory Moore, the president of Black Residents United in Housing (BRUH) at SF State about Black resources and representation on campus. Malakai Wade
Malakai is a senior journalism student at SFSU and the Editor-in-Chief of Xpress Magazine. She is in her last semester after finishing a minor in International Relations. shaylyn martos (she/her) works to provide better representation of LGBTQ+ people in media, and produces stories that address possible solutions to larger, systemic issues. She currently serves as multimedia editor for SF State's Golden Gate Xpress and produces The Happy Hour Podcast. In 2019, shaylyn was honored as an NPR Next Generation Radio Mentee. Joel Umanzor Jr.
Joel Umanzor Jr. is studying Print and Online Journalism with a minor in Latino/a studies and is in his Senior year. Umanzor Jr. is also a part-time reporter for a local youth-led monthly publication in the East Bay Area called "The Richmond Pulse.” When not on assignment, you can find him listening to underground Hip Hop somewhere in between Richmond and Hayward.
