CORRECTION: An earlier version of this article stated that “several attempts were made to contact the University for more information regarding the robbery,” when if fact Golden Gate Xpress made two phone calls to the University for a statement but did not leave a message requesting comment and did not make any other attempts.
At 1:50 a.m. on Oct. 28, a male victim contacted University Police to report an armed robbery on the first floor of the Mary Park residence hall.
While opening the back exit door located on Lake Merced Blvd. for some friends, the victim was pulled out of the building by three males.
The males robbed him of his iPhone 6 at gunpoint before running off toward Winston Dr. and eventually left in a four-door gray Sedan, according the the victim.
Description of the suspects are three Hispanic-looking males, one approximately 5’10” sporting glasses and a dark jacket, another approximately 5’10”-6’0” with a skinny build and about 19-20 years old.
No harm came to the victim of the armed robbery.
In response to the incident, UPD is increasing patrols to the residence halls.
