Demonstrators gathered at the steps of San Francisco City Hall and at the California State Building as part of the March 1 Day of Action to share personal anecdotes and sing songs to raise awareness about slashes to education funding.
An estimated 500 people participated, according to San Francisco police officer Ann Mannix.
