Xpress news sat down with Chazwick Bundick, better known as Toro Y Moi, after he performed at the Rhythms Music Festival last Thursday at San Francisco State University.
Bundick graduated from the University of South Carlolina with a degree in graphic design, but decided to pursue music instead. He broke into the chillwave rock scene with the release of his first album “Causers of This” on Carpark Records in 2010. His latest release is “June 2009,” a box set of songs he recorded that year and decided to officially release last month.
Bundick talked about designing his album covers, the reason he won’t perform on stage after turning 50, and why he likes recording music at home.
