Balancing classes, homework, a job or two, extracurricular activities, friends, and family can be stressful.
It can be especially difficult coping with the anxiety that comes from having a close family member who is ill.
SF State musical theatre and dance student Andrew Gomez, seeks peace of mind through pursuing many forms of creative arts. Ever since his mother was diagnosed with coronary artery disease, Gomez says the art is what helps him stay balanced and a hectic schedule keeps his mind off of his stress.
Gomez is a member of several on-campus clubs including the Queer Alliance and the Student Dance Alliance. He attends an acting workshop, draws and makes clothing on his own time.
This is an example of a typical day in the life of Andrew Gomez.
