ASI hosts town hall to explain programs and funding

The Associated Students, Inc. is inviting all SF State students to participate in a town hall meeting in The Depot Wednesday, Sept. 18 at noon to learn what ASI does with the $42 each student pays them every semester.

“I am certain that students have no idea about where their money is spent, and this is a great opportunity for them to learn and then voice their opinions on where they think the money should be spent, which they can do at the Q&A portion after the presentation,” said Alex Neylon, vice president of University affairs.

Every enrolled student pays a $42 per semester ASI fee, which allows them membership. Each year, ASI organizes functions and events, provides jobs for more than 100 students, funds some student organizations with up to $4,000 and makes $30,000 in scholarships available.

Pizza will be provided at the town hall meeting and there will be a raffle for a pair of Treasure Island Music Festival tickets. The Depot is located in the lower level of the Cesar Chavez Student Center.
