Darren Singh, an SF State creative writing major, talks about his experience as a cadet in the Army ROTC program. The tactical missions they participate in teach students how to react in stressful situations when they are under fire. University of San Francisco’s Army ROTC Dons Battalion has been training students to become commissioned officers for the U.S. Army since 1936. Schools such as SF State, Academy of the Arts University, Sonoma State University and other local junior colleges are allowed to participate in the program through cross-enrollment.
