A student living in SFSU housing got a shock Saturday afternoon when she encountered a burglar in her apartment as she walked out of her bedroom.
The victim called University Police at 4:14 p.m. to report the break-in at the University Park North residential building.
“As she exited her bedroom, she noticed the suspect walking inside her living room towards the front door with her backpack and then fleeing the area,” stated the UPD Timely Warning bulletin.
“The victim and her roommate were home at the time of the burglary. The suspect stole a backpack containing a laptop, a debit card, driver’s license, and other miscellaneous items.”
The victim said she couldn’t place the suspect’s race, though she estimated he was approximately 5 feet 10 inches in height, of average build and 190 pounds. He was wearing a baggy gray hooded sweatshirt with the hood covering his head and blue and white dark jeans that were acid washed and ripped.
In response, UPD increased patrols in that area of campus.
UPD is asking anyone who saw or heard any part of the incident or may have further suspect information to come forward and contact the San Francisco State University Police Department at (415) 338-2222 or the anonymous tip line at (415) 338-3030.
