Brass knuckles or an intricate windmill? The sky’s the limit for what students in the sculpture II class at SF State can create. Anything that involves steel, wood — or even buttons —  sparks creativity in each student.

The week before finals, in this class, looks different than most. There are no books, computers or notebooks to be seen. The art created here is forged by grinding and welding, or sanding, gluing and wood burning. A walk around the workshop tells each student’s passion as they focus intensely on their final projects.
