Superfest international disability film festival is celebrating disability culture by showcasing film selections at the Magnes Collection of Jewish art and life in Berkeley on Oct. 20 – Oct. 21 at the Contemporary Jewish Museum in SF.

The festival allows disabled filmmakers and creators to share their stories that explore disability with the world and is open to anyone who wants to submit their film for the next international event.

“Students should attend the festival, whether or not they have a disability themselves, to gain new perspectives on people with disabilities and the creative impact disabled filmmakers are bringing to cinema,” said Emily Beitiks, Associate Director of the Longmore Institute on Disability and Superfest Coordinator.

This festival first debuted in Los Angeles in 1970 and has since become one of the few festivals that showcase talented creators and filmmakers who are passionate to share their stories with the world.

This event is open to the public and tickets can be purchased online and for more information on the selected films for this two-day event is listed on their website.
